Przemysław Radzyński talks to Fr. Marek Dziewiecki, Spiritual guidance
Keywords:
spiritual guidance, spiritualityAbstract
Spirituality enables the human being to manage his own behaviour in a conscious and free way. God has given us the true freedom of thought and freedom to act. That is why there is always a risk that we will be guided by misperceptions and make wrong decisions. Therefore, both clergy and lay people need not only God's help, but also some mature person - usually a priest - who will help them stay on the way of blessing and life, i.e. on the way of spiritual maturity and holiness. Spiritual guidance creates a chance to reach the depth of humanity, the depth of bond, values and moral sensitivity. Spiritual guidance supports us in our endeavour to follow Jesus so that we do not focus on ourselves but take up our cross every day and learn to love the way Jesus loved us first.
