Spirituality and existence in shaping of the youth – psychological aspect

Abstract

Currently, young people struggle with an identity crisis, they are often confused by the reality that surrounds them and are unable to find their place in it. This article addresses the problem of the crisis of contemporary adolescents, with particular emphasis on the religious crisis. The religious crisis, like other crises, can affect a person regardless of the dimension of his/her existence. Thus, the functions of existential and religious crisis in personality development are discussed. The reality of the crisis of young people during adolescence is presented within psychological knowledge. It was also indicated that metanoia – spiritual conversion is a way to stave off and overcome the crisis.
