New evangelization
Keywords:
new evangelization, evangelize, preach, teach, educate in faith, John Paul II, Vatican Coundil IIAbstract
Man, as a person called by God to continually develop himself and the entrusted world – creatio continua – needs to be constantly reminded of his vocation and the tasks set for him in life. Just as the material taught in school is repeated several times in order to consolidate knowledge, a believer needs constant conversion, returning to the roots and the sources of his vocation – this is where a new evangelization is needed. The world today does not help people understand themselves; on the contrary. The media create and emphasize the need to take care of the nature around us. However, in all this there is no place for caring about oneself in the context and dimension of seeking a relationship with God, the creator of the universe. In order to understand himself, man needs God – the living God – who in his Word shows what the beauty of life and being His Creation is all about. God is waiting for us in His Word in the Gospel. The Gospel gives a new life to people who are tired of today’s pursuit, of rushing ahead without a moment to stop, take a break and look deep into their hearts and reflect on their life. The new evangelization is aimed at both believers and those who seek God in their lives. Also, people who are religiously indifferent, but with good will, can take advantage of this form of searching for themselves and their vocation in today’s world.
