Educational authority
Abstract
Observing the behavior of children and youth nowadays we can say that we are dealing with an evident crisis of educators and upbringing, which is due to two main reasons. The first is rapid social, cultural and civilization transformations, which put educators and students to a very difficult test as they promote the rejection of authority, moral principles and norms of morality. The second reason lies in the pedagogy itself, specifically in erroneous and often naïve educational concepts, such as the so-called "stress-free upbringing". The result of the social crisis and the crisis of educators and upbringing is the drama of thousands of students. Our country is not free from these problems. In this situation, there appears a need for a radical revival of upbringing in Polish families and schools. The solution is to appeal to "healthy" ethical principles and, essentially, to adopt a holistic and realistic view of the human being as well as set out the basic aims of upbringing, i.e. working on the student’s consciousness and freedom.
