Abstract

People nowadays, especially youth, aspire to live in freedom and declare that they are free. Reality, however, diverges from their subjective convictions. Studies show that never before have we observed such high rates of addictions from alcohol, drugs, gambling, sex, electronic devices, computer games or the Internet. This is because children and young people are not educated to freedom on a regular basis or to take responsibility for their actions and bear the consequences of the decisions taken. The second reason for the contemporary loss of freedom is an erroneous belief that freedom means permission to do anything one wants to while avoiding to make any commitments.
