Abstract

God created every human being with love and to eachof us hesuggests the best way of life on earth. God does not create people without a vocation. No one is called to be single either because it is not good for man to be alone. Each of us is first called to receive the gift of humanity, that is being someone like God, someone loved and able to learn to love. Oursecond vocation is holiness, that is becoming someone like Jesus. Thethird vocation isto fulfill our sacred humanity in marriage and family, priesthood or consecrated life. At the beginning of history, there was only the vocation of marriage and family. Special vocations, i.e.priesthood and the religious life, became necessary after the original sin, when Adams and Eves of successive generations did not cope with the vocations of marriage and being parents. In order to discover and fulfill one’s vocation, a deepened Christian educationis needed as it helps to followJesus in his faithful and sacrificial love. The decline in the number of candidates for marriage, priesthood and the religious life is not due to the crisis of vocations, but due to the crisis of people called to given vocations and the crisis of their Christian educators.
