Abstract

For modern man, and especially for children and young people, the word "freedom" is extremely attractive and acquires almost magical meaning. Freedom is identified with social progress and human self-realization. Most political and pedagogical programs just refer to the promise of freedom: freedom for all social groups, freedom of speech, belief, conscience. At the same time, statements about freedom often turn out to be one-sided, narrowed, detached from the realities of human life. Sometimes it is only a moralizing look. Other times only psychologizing or sociological. Some show freedom in a naively optimistic way. Others, in turn, present human freedom in a fatalistic way, treating it as a drama and a source of misery. Understanding human freedom requires describing its external and internal conditions. It also requires an upbringing process, thanks to which a person becomes capable of mature use of freedom
