Message of Our Lady of Fatima for contemporary catechesis

Abstract

The 100th anniversary of the apparitions of Virgin Mary in Fatima is an important event for the Church in Poland and the world. It helps us understand that there are many evils and sins in the world, but above all, the abundance of Divine Mercy. The mission of the Church is to proclaim and spread the message of Our Lady of Fatima and explain the meaning of the Marian apparitions to the contemporary world and mankind. School and parish catechesis should provide formation of faith and prayer among children, youth and adults, who will then follow the paths revealed by the Lady of Fatima. The request of Our Lady for the prayer of the rosary, the service of the first Saturday of the month and the frequent reception of Holy Communion are still very up to date. A principal part of the worship of Our Lady of Fatima is the devotion to Her Immaculate Heart, which is also a form of reparation for the sins of humanity and a promise of help in the hardships of life. The message of the Mother of God is an appeal for fidelity to the teaching of Christ in the daily lives of mankind and nations, since only life according to God's commandments and based on His teaching is a guarantee of peace throughout the world.
