The catechist at school in relation to teachers and parents. The catechist participating in the life of those catechized

Abstract

The catechist is aware by Whom and for what purpose s/he was called and sent. The aim of the catechist is to lead pupils to come to meet Jesus and even to unite with Him and to enter into close friendship with him (CT 5). The positive relations of the catechist with Christ and pupils, as well as their parents and teachers, the open-mindedness of the catechist, testimony of faith, the feeling for the meaning of the way, favour trust and friendship and may also become a beginning of an encounter on the foundation of faith. A good relationship of the catechist with teachers and parents gives a greater chance for a more solid influence on the formation of the attitude of the pupils. It enables the creating of a uniform educational milieu founded on Christian values.
