Abstract

The purpose of this analysis is to describe the conditions to follow Jesus and remain in the communion with God based on theprinciples that he presents in his main speech on the subject: "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself, take his cross and follow me "(Mt 16.24). Each of the above mentioned conditions to follow Jesus is shown in the theological context in order to avoid such an interpretation of Jesus' words, which are contrary to the truths of the gospel about the relationship between God and man, and also about the man and his nature. The disciple of Jesus is the one making decisions in a conscious and free. This is someone who is not egocentric focused on himself. It is also a realist who takes upon himself the burden of their own lives and follow God's love for man.
